Description
Research use only
PT-141, also known as Bremelanotide, is a synthetic peptide and melanocortin receptor agonist primarily targeting MC3R and MC4R. Unlike phosphodiesterase inhibitors, which act peripherally, PT-141 exerts its effects centrally through the hypothalamus, influencing pathways associated with sexual arousal and behavior. Preclinical studies demonstrate its ability to enhance libido, improve erectile function, and modulate neuroendocrine responses. It has also been investigated for roles in energy balance, stress adaptation, and appetite regulation, making it a versatile research compound.
Supplied as a lyophilized powder in vials (10 mg). Store at room temperature protected from light for short-term storage. For long-term stability, store at –20 °C with desiccant. After reconstitution in sterile water or buffer, aliquot and store at –20 °C, avoiding repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use. Not a drug, food, or cosmetic.
